A four-year-old boy has drowned this evening in a swimming pool at a residence in Helderkruin, west of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene by a local security company and arrived at 19h35.
On arrival, paramedics found a security officer performing CPR on the child near the pool.
Paramedics immediately took over CPR effort on the child. Advanced life support interventions were also initiated, in an effort to revive the boy.
Unfortunately, after 45 minutes, no vital signs returned and the boy was declared dead.
It is understood that a family member had found the child floating in the pool and immediately pulled him out. A security member arrived on the scene and immediately began CPR.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
