Biker left critical after collision in Broadacres, Johannesburg

A man, believed to be in his 40s, was left critically injured last night following a collision between a motorbike and light motor vehicle at the Cedar and Lombardy Road intersection in Broadacres, Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare, arrived on the scene at 21h00, finding the biker and his vehicle in the middle of the road.

The man was assessed and found to have sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.

Paramedics treated the man and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the man was transported to Life Fourways for further stabilization.

After further treatment at a hospital, the man was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby private hospital for further care.

The driver of the light motor vehicle, fortunately, escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
