A man was left critically injured this evening when he was knocked over by a taxi on Racecourse Road in Kenilworth in the Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare, arrived on the scene to find the man lying in the middle of the road. The taxi that had hit the man has parked a short distance away.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained injuries to his head, pelvis and legs, leaving him in a critical condition.
The man was treated for his injuries and was provided with advanced life support interventions. Shortly after treatment, the man was transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for further care.
The driver of the taxi, fortunately, escaped injury.
Local authorities will be investigating this matter further.
