A 26 year old suspect was apprehended by the public after he broke into a home on Cobblepark Place in Sastri Park, Phoenix.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call from a member of public reporting a house break-in in progress. Upon arrival Reaction Officers were flagged down by two individuals who apprehended the suspect shortly after he fled from the property.
Two bags containing electronic equipment, copper pipes and electrical cables were recovered in his possession. It was established that the suspect had crawled under the wire fence before he forced a sliding door open and gained entry into the home.
The KwaMashu resident was placed under arrest and handed over to authorities for further investigation.
