At approximately 00:30 this morning members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the south bound lane of the R102 between King Shaka International Airport and the Canelands robots in Verulam after receiving reports of a motor vehicle collision.
Upon arrival a VW Polo was found lying on its roof. It was established that the vehicle was travelling behind a VW Beach Buggy when the driver knocked into it. The VW Polo then flipped over the VW Beach Buggy and landed on its roof. The driver of the VW Polo managed to free himself from the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The occupants of the VW Beach Buggy were not injured.
It could not be established at to why the driver of the VW Polo fled the scene however Police are investigating further.
