Two men have been arrested following a theft from a person in Umhlanga Rocks this weekend.
Marshall Security’s UIP guarding, were alerted to the fact that a wallet and cellphone had been taken from the Umhlanga Rocks beach area, whilst a foreign tourist was bathing in the ocean.
Information was relayed to the Marshall Security Emergency Contact Centre and our Special Operations Team was activated to assist.
SOT members managed to track the stolen cellphone to the Osindisweni area, north of Durban and descended on the location with the assistance of the South African Police Services.
Two men were found in possession of the stolen property. The suspects attempted to evade arrest and a foot chase ensued, resulting in the apprehension of both men.
The property was returned to the tourist and the suspects were handed over to the SAPS for further investigation and processing.
