17-Year-old declared dead after fatal drowning in Melkbosstrand

A 17-year-old was pronounced dead this morning following a fatal drowning incident at the Melkbos Beach in Melkbosstrand in the Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the lifeguards and NSRI performing CPR on a 17-year-old boy.

ER24 and Life Healthcare immediately took over CPR, and initiated advanced life support interventions.

After some time, the patient was transported to a nearby private hospital for further, urgent treatment. Unfortunately, the boy was later pronounced dead.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
