A replica firearm and valuables that were taken during a robbery was recovered by members of Reaction Unit South Africa in Phoenix a short while ago.
While on patrol Reaction Officers were flagged down by two women and a man requesting assistance.
The male victim was bleeding from an injury to his head. They explained that while seated under a tree they were approached by six suspects who were armed with knives and pangas. One suspect was armed with a firearm.
The victims were robbed of their valuables which included cell phones, handbags, and cash. The male victim was pistol-whipped during the robbery. The suspects fled the scene on foot.
RUSA Officers patrolled the area and noticed the six suspects fleeing through a bush in the direction of the DSW Water Treatment Department on Stonebridge Drive in Phoenix.
Officers pursued the suspects through the dense bush however they managed to evade arrest. A replica firearm that was used in the robbery and some of the stolen goods were recovered on a pathway in the bush.
The suspects are believed to be responsible for several robberies that have occurred in the area in recent weeks.
