Acting on information, Members of Reaction Unit South Africa arrested two suspects that had fled the scene of an Atm robbery in Verulam a short while ago.
The suspects, a taxi owner aged 26 years & a taxi conductor aged 45 years were boxed in by Reaction Officers after they attempted to flee in a white Toyota Corolla after robbing an elderly shopper of his card.
R11 200 in cash & three cloned cards (picture 2) were also recovered. A Capitec Bank Card found in the suspects possession was traced to a female who was robbed near Eshowe in Zululand. R3200 was stolen from her account & the card was used to purchase a large quantity of liquor from a bottle store. Reaction Officers were informed that a third suspect who was still scouting for victims at the shopping center had escaped on foot.
Both suspects who are residents of Lindelani near Kwa Mashu in KZN were handed over to the South African Police.
They are currently in custody at SAP Verulam.
