At approximately 12:26pm Tuesday afternoon 6th March, Netcare 911 responded to an accident on Randfontein Road towards Leratong from Roodepoort, Krugersdorp.
On arrival Netcare 911 attended to 3 patients, 2 male and one female. Reports from the scene indicate that it was a T-bone collision between a bakkie and a light delivery vehicle. The driver of the light delivery vehicle sustained fatal injuries and unfortunately declared dead on the scene whilst the driver and passenger in the bakkie were both critically injured. One was trapped in the bakkie and rescue services had to use specialised equipment to free them. Paramedics provided advanced life support interventions to both before being transported to a nearby hospital.
