A male driver suffered injuries after his vehicle was forced off the northbound lane on the R102 and crashed through a barrier meters before a concrete bridge. The suv rolled multiple times and landed in a bush near the Umdloti River.
At approx 18:18 this afternoon (Sunday) Members of Reaction Unit South Africa was dispatched to the scene after receiving multiple calls from passing motorists who reported that a white Range Rover SUV flipped several times after being forced off the road by a minibus taxi. Motorists who stopped on the bridge to assist could not provide information on the driver or occupants as the vehicle was not accessible.
Paramedics & Reaction Officers arrived on scene & walked for approx six minutes through a dense bush to reach the injured man. Upon arrival at the vehicle, Medics found that the driver was assisted by an unknown person who helped remove him from the vehicle. There were no other occupants.
He was stabilized on scene and transported to Gateway Hospital in Umhlanga for further treatment.
