A helping hand was extended by Corporate Communication Kimberley and HRD Northern Cape to the police in the drought-stricken Western Cape today. The Western Cape Media Centre in Greenpoint, Cape Town, was contacted in the morning to announce the arrival of 40 five-litre bottles of spring water as a token of goodwill from the SAPS Northern Cape.
Members from Media Liaison in Kimberley, as well as from HRD Northern Cape dug deep into their pockets to purchase the water. Colonel Engelke from Provincial Supply Chain Management Services at the Western Cape Provincial Office, who deals with all water donations, was happy to receive the water, for further distribution to SAPS in the province. Our heartfelt thanks go to our colleagues from Kimberley for this wonderful gift.
Capt Piet Smit, our photographer, was ready with his camera to capture the moment.
