Galeshewe and surrounding areas received torrential rain that was heartily welcomed.
Unfortunately, two people in Galeshewe drowned near Goggapomp over the weekend. The victims are aged 41 and 42 years, both drowned on Sunday at 13:00 and 15:20 respectively.
Residents are sensitised not to cross overflowing rivers or to swim when one is unable to do so.
Parents are also requsted to monitor children not to play in dams or rivers to avoid drownings.
Inquest cases have been opened by Galeshewe police for further police investigations.
