Gauteng: Suspect fatally wounded during a shootout
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident on Wednesday morning, 28 March 2018 in Johannesburg, where two police officers were shot and wounded, one suspect fatally shot and a passerby caught in the crossfire.
Preliminary reports indicate that police were on foot patrol duty when they approached the suspect to search him. A shootout ensued between the armed suspect and the police.
Injured police officers and a passerby were taken to nearby hospital.
