A Fire has broken out in a hotel in West Street between Point Road and Gillespie Street in Durban

A fire has broken out in a hotel in West Street between Point Road and Gillespie Street in Durban this morning just after 7 am.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the Durban Fire Department already in attendance tackling the blaze. Smoke was billowing out of the windows. The fire was quickly contained and no injuries were reported on scene.

West Street was closed between Point Road and Gillespie Street.

At this stage, the exact cause of the fire is unknown however SAPS and Durban Fire Department will be investigating further.
