A four-year-old boy was left seriously injured late last night after he fell into a tub of hot water at the Plastic View Informal Settlement in Moreleta Park.
ER24 paramedics were alerted to the scene after the mother had carried the child to a nearby church and notified the onsite security.
Upon arrival at 21h11, paramedics found the boy in the arms of the mother.
Paramedics assessed the boy and found that he had sustained burns to his legs and buttocks, leaving him in a serious condition.
Paramedics treated the boy and provided him with pain-relief medication before he was transported to Steve Biko Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
Local authorities were notified of this incident.
