A newborn baby girl was found this morning in a veld along Columbine Road in Mondeor.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene after patrolling members of the SAPS found the girl.
Upon arrival at 11h45, paramedics found the newborn with the local authorities.
Paramedics assessed the girl and found that she had escaped injury but was suffering from Hypothermia and dehydration.
The girl was treated by paramedics and gradually warmed before she was transported to a private hospital for further attention.
Local authorities were on the scene and will be conducting an investigation into the matter.
