The South African Police Service Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has condemned the ongoing domestic related crimes, especially the killings and assaults in some areas throughout this Province, with the most strongest terms.
This condemnation by the Provincial Commissioner follows the arrest of a 45-year-old man for killing his wife and attempting to kill another man during an incident which occurred at Matobole village in the Ga-Maja area outside Lebowakgomo.
It is alleged that Sana Kgwale (33) was shot and killed by her husband after a domestic dispute at their residential place and he later shot another man. After this killing, it is believed that the suspect wrapped the deceased’s body with a blanket to hide it in the bathtub before he handed himself over to the Police.
The motive behind this killing, is not yet clear at this stage but domestic violence may not be ruled out.
The injured man was taken to hospital with serious gunshot wounds for medical treatment.
The suspect will appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court soon.
Members of the community are once more advised and encouraged to consult with the relevant local professionals and authorities in case of any domestic related situation for intervention, rather than harming or killing each other.
The Police investigations are still continuing.
