Man killed during a fire in his Westville house in Serpentine Road in Westville

A man in his seventies has been killed after a fire in his Westville house in Serpentine Road in Westville around 2pm.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the Durban Fire Department already in attendance. The fire was quickly extinguished by the Durban Fire Department. A man in his seventies was killed as a result of severe burns. He was declared deceased on the scene by Paramedics. No other injuries were sustained.

At this stage the events leading up to the fire are unknown however SAPS and Durban Fire Department will be investigating further.
