Baby boy rescued by Mangaung Fire Fighters and EMS Personnel in a pit latrine at Khayelitsha.

The Free State MEC for Health, Montsheng Tsiu spent the better part of the evening at Pelonomi Hospital. The MEC was at Pelonomi Hospital from 17:00, Thursday, May 10, 2018 to see the 2,6 grams baby boy who was rescued by the Mangaung Fire Fighters and EMS Personnel in a pit latrine at Khayelitsha.

The MEC Tsiu thanked the joint teams of emergency service personnel who rescued this lovely baby boy who was left for dead on early hours of Friday, 04 May 2018. MEC Tsiu was joined by Pelonomi CEO, Baesi Ramodula and Martha Caroline Molefe who is Pelonomi Hospital’s Head of Nursing.

The lovely bundle of joy is in good hands and has been attended to by Social Workers in order to facilitate a process of adoption when the baby is fully recovered.
