A foetus was found this afternoon in a veld off Twelfth Street in Maraisburg, west of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene at 13h00 by the CPF.
On arrival, paramedics found the fetus lying in the veld wrapped in a cloth.
Unfortunately, the foetus had already been dead for some time. Nothing more could be done by paramedics.
The local authorities were on the scene and they will be launching an investigation into the matter.
