Kimberley Flying Squad members made a major breakthrough with the arrest of carjackers.
The owner of Mitsubishi Colt bakkie was accosted earlier today by three gun and knife-wielding robbers in Windsorton.
Members of Kimberley Flying Squad were alerted of the hijacking while doing patrols along the N12 and responded swiftly. The suspects were arrested about 20kms outside Kimberley.
The hijacked bakkie was recovered. An unlicensed firearm and knife used by the suspects were confiscated.
The swift response by the members was applauded by the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Risimati Peter Shivuri.
The suspects will appear before local Magistrate’s Court soon.
