A woman, believed to be in her 20s, was killed this morning when she was hit by a light motor vehicle at the Ruth and Naomi Road intersection in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 06h06 to find the body of a woman, believed to be in her 20s, lying in the left-hand emergency lane. The light motor vehicle had come to a stop just a short distance away.
Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead.
The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
