Two women and a man were hospitalised after they were run over on Todd Street outside the Verulam Day Care Centre in Verulam a short while ago.
At approximately 07:32 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by the public and passing motorists reporting the incident. Upon arrival it was alleged the driver of the Hyundai Accent allegedly attempted to overtake a truck but failed to notice a bakkie approaching on the opposite lane. The Hyundai Accent veered off the road and ploughed into a group of pedestrians on the opposite side of the road.
The injured suffered mild to moderate injuries and were treated on scene before being transported to Osindisweni Hospital.
