The MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Mxolisi Kaunda has commended the Provincial Regulatory Entity (PRE) on the roll out of Regional Roadshow to all districts and Municipalities with the aim of reducing backlogs and addressing issues of concerns within the public transport sector with the blessings of SANTACO.
The Department has mainly targeted operators in a bid to strengthen relations and ensuring adherence in the regulation of the Public Transport sector. The main aim amongst other things is to assist operators with outstanding applications and also assist them in obtaining operating licenses that have been the growing concern in the industry.
A mobile helpdesk facilities is also available in the roadshows to assist in reducing backlog.
These roadshows will end next month started in Zululand District with one schedule to take place tomorrow in KwaDukuza Town Hall in ILembe District.
