One dead in Durban North shooting

KwaZulu-Natal: At 16H52 Sunday late afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting just off North Coast Road in Briardene, Durban North.
Reports from the scene indicate that three adult males were shot.
One of the males believed to be in his late twenties sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was declared deceased on the scene.
The other two males were treated on scene by Netcare 911 and Crises Medical.
The Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services had to be called to set up a “rope and basket” system to lower the injured from the railway tracks where the patients were found.
Both males were treated on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic and transported to hospital for further treatment.
Circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown and will form part of an SAPS investigation.
All necessary authorities are on scene and have secured the area for investigations to take place.
