Verulam detectives worked around the clock to solve the murder case after an unknown man was found dead in a dam in the Cornubia area on Friday, 10 August 2018 and they arrested the suspect. He will be charged for murder and will appear in the Verulam Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, 13 August 2018.
On 10 August 2018 at 10:30, a body of an unknown male clad in blue pair of jeans with a white and navy t-shirt was retrieved from the dam by members of SAPS Search and Rescue Unit. The body was discovered by young boys who were cutting sugarcane near the dam. The deceased had assault and stab wounds. A case of murder was opened at Verulam police station for investigation. The motive for the murder is subject our on-going investigation.
