A man was arrested by Reaction Officers after he shot at his mother and brother during a domestic dispute at their home on Rose Road in Redcliffe last night.
At approximately 21:26 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by a resident reporting shots being fired at a neighbouring property. Upon arrival Reaction Officers were informed that the suspect had already fled the scene.
His mother explained that following a dispute over the inheritance of their home her son pulled out a firearm and fired shots at her and her other son. The intoxicated man then fled the scene in a silver Toyota RUN X. A spent 9mm cartridge was recovered at the scene.
While on patrol Officers spotted the vehicle on Jasmine Road in Redcliffe. RUSA Members approached the vehicle and found the firearm used in the shooting on the passenger seat. The firearm was licenced and belonged to the driver. The intoxicated man was placed under arrest and handed over to Police for further investigation.
No one was injured in the shooting.
