The migration of crime detection resources from a strategic to the local policing framework, has been put in place to ensure effective and responsive investigation of every crime.
It is with this perspective that the Crime Detection Division has arranged a conference at the Velmore Hotel in Erasmia, Pretoria to create an important platform for skills development, skills transfer, knowledge sharing and best practice discussions where participants can reflect on the current status of crime detection and how they envisage its immediate future.
It is a three-day session that will run from 3 to 5 September 2018, where crime detection experts from various fields such as the Forensic Science Laboratory, Detective Services, Crime Intelligence, Visible Policing and other external law enforcement agencies will discuss different topics to improve the service delivery value chain in crime detection.
The conference will consist of a live simulation of a crime scene by forensic experts, panel discussions and commissions on topics such as quality investigations, legislative framework, crime scene management and cybercrime strategies.
On the evening of the last day, a Crime Detection Special Awards Ceremony will take place and this is where members that have excelled in their duties will be awarded.
