One person was killed and a second person was injured after they were stabbed during an argument on Moss Street in the Verulam CBD this afternoon.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by the public who noticed a man bleeding from the chest collapse on the pavement. Upon arrival Medics were called to the scene and assessed the man who was found to have sustained a single stab wound to his chest. He showed no signs of life and was declared deceased on arrival.
It is alleged that the deceased and his employer who owns a bottle store on Moss Street were involved in an argument with a customer over the sale of cigarettes. During the argument the customer drew a knife and stabbed the deceased in the chest and his employer on his shoulder. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The deceased’s employer was transported to hospital privately.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspects however no arrests were made.
