Shortly after 07:34 am Monday, 3rd September 2018 – Netcare 911 responded to an accident on Frikkie Meyer Boulevard in Vanderbijlpark.
On arrival Netcare 911 and other emergency medical services found a taxi on the side of the road. Several people were ejected from the Taxi and were found lying near the scene. Upon further assessment by paramedics, a 13-year-old female was found to have sustained fatal injuries and sadly nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead on scene.
Multiple other patients were assessed and were found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries, they were transported to various hospitals for further medical care. Two young males were found to have sustained serious injuries and were in a critical condition. The two were provided with advanced life support interventions before being airlifted, one by Netcare 911 and the other by a private helicopter.
The exact circumstances regarding the incident was not known to our paramedics but local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.
