Yesterday, September 6 2018, at about 22h45, a valuable tip that led to an arrest was received from a member the community of Parktown Estate, next to Mountain View, about a suspected cable theft incident in the area.
Tshwane Metro Police, CPT security guards, as well as members of the Community Policing Forum in the area responded swiftly to the call. Upon arriving at the scene, at Green Street, a group of suspects was observed digging the ground. A plan was formulated to ensure that none of suspects escapes the scene. The security operational strategy yielded results as 3 suspects were caught red-handed excavating the area where there are cables.
Suspects have been detained at Wonderboompoort Police Station and tools they used for excavation confiscated.
We would like to give gratitude to the members of the community for their assistance. All community members are encouraged to report any unlawful conduct to Metro Police at 012 358 7095/6 or to the nearest Police Station.
Well done to the TMPD officers, CPF Security guards and members of the Community Policing forum for their swift response.
