190 scholars & 15 teachers traveled 130 kilometers this morning on an excursion to the Reaction Unit South Africa Headquarters.
Children aged 8-13 years old from Entembisweni Primary School in Greytown – KwaZulu-Natal arrived at RUSA at 10:30 in fourteen minibus taxis. The principal contacted the Operations Center last week requesting to visit the premises & educate the learners on safety & security.
Reaction Officers briefed the children on safety, kidnappings & crime in general. Paramedics demonstrated the use of medical equipment & created a mock scene. The RUSA R44 Robinson Helicopter was on display & the pilot briefed the scholars on Aviation Safety. The children were then allowed onto the Helipad to view the aircraft up-close.
Several children were also taken on Helicopter rides over the Hazelmere Dam.
