Seven suspects in their mid-30s are expected to appear in the Randburg magistrate court soon to face charges of being in possession of a hijacked motor vehicle.
It is alleged that on Friday, 21 September 2018, at around 10h30, the police received an information about a planned robbery whereby the suspects were driving in a hijacked motor vehicle. The officers started to search for that vehicle.
The vehicle was spotted in Linden policing area whereby it was stopped and searched. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was robbed. Furthermore, several registration numbers, eight channel jamming device, and jewellery was found inside the vehicle.
It is further alleged that the suspects committed house breaking in one of residential area in linden policing area before being spotted. The suspects were all arrested and will face different charges in the Randburg magistrate after being charged formally.
