Eastern Cape Police junior leadership embarks on a Community Outreach progarmme.

In preparation for the Junior National Commissioner Competition that is scheduled to take place at SAPS Head Office in Pretoria soon, the Eastern Cape Junior Leadership has embarked on a three day outreach programme from the 25th to 27th of September 2018.

The aim of the outreach programme was to present their work to the Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen LE Ntshinga and to be assessed on their state of readiness to attend the competition by the senior management of the province.

During their presentations, constructive criticism was made by all present and advice was given to the young lions on where improvements should be made with regard to their presentations. “The reason for this exercise was to ensure that our Junior Leadership impress the adjudicators with their speeches when they are competing against other provinces. We are confident that we will earn our victory and that the Junior National Commissioner will be crowned from our delegates from the Eastern Cape Province because we are a province of Legends” said Major General TI Dyantyi.

On Wednesday, 26 September 2018, the Junior Leadership accompanied by their Provincial Coordinators from the Provincial Social Crime Prevention and Corporate Communication and Liaison Services visited two schools in King Williamstown including Manezi Primary School and Charles Morgan Higher Primary School. During their visits, they made presentations on School Safety and focused on crimes that are affecting school learners including bullying, gangsterism, subsbstance abuse and carrying of weapons at school.

They were later met by the Deputy Director of Department of Safety and Liaison, Miss Judy August and the All Saints SAPS Detectives Academy Management of Information and Strategic Planning Manager, Captain Lungelwa Woko for further engagements and preparations for their upcoming competition.

On the final day of their outreach program the Junior Leadership extended their words of appreciation to their Senior Management of the Eastern Cape SAPS, Provincial Coordinators and Corporate Communication for their warm hospitality during their visit to the Provincial Head Quarters and made a commitment to represent the Province in the national competition and to come back as winners.
