A man reported his vehicle stolen to his tracking coming shortly after it went over a bridge and landed next to a railway line in Canelands – KZN on Friday morning.
At approximately 06:33 Reaction Unit South Africa received a call from a member of public reporting the accident. Upon arrival emergency services were on scene and an extensively damaged Hyundai i20 was found several meters below the road.
The intoxicated owner claimed that his vehicle was stolen and he had activated his tracking device. His tracking company arrived at the scene and noticed that the man had injuries to his face. When questioned he admitted that while travelling on Vincent Dickenson Road he failed to negotiate a bend and crashed his vehicle.
He sustained minor injuries in the accident and did not require medical attention.
