63 scholars Reaction Unit South Africa Headquarters in Verulam for their annual excursion today (Friday).
Children from Grade R to Grade 7 from Fabeni Primary School in Greytown – KwaZulu-Natal arrived at RUSA at 11:00 in 6 minibus taxis. The principal contacted the Operations Center last week requesting to visit the premises.
Reaction Officers briefed the children on safety, kidnappings & crime in general. Paramedics demonstrated the use of medical equipment & created a mock emergency scene. The kids viewed the RUSA R44 Robinson Helicopter landing on the helipad. They were briefed on aerial operations.
The purpose of the excursion was to give the children an insight on careers in the Security, EMS and Aviation industry.
