MEC Kaunda and SANTACO to remember victims of taxi violence in Ladysmith

The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mr. Mxolisi Kaunda, will join the leadership of the South African Taxi Council (SANTACO) in remembering the victims of violent conflicts in the taxi industry on Sunday.

Prior to the prayer, Kaunda, together with SANTACO leadership will lay wreaths on the R74 Colenso, outside Ladysmith where 11 people were killed while returning from a funeral of a taxi operator in July 2018.

Ladysmith is one of the areas in the province that have been plagued by taxi conflicts and the prayer is aimed at promoting peace and stability in the taxi industry.

The prayer and wreath laying will take place as follows:

The Prayer will start at 09h00 at the Ladysmith Indoor Sports Centre.
