Festive season period has descended upon us characterised by an increase in the movement of people within the country due to tourism at shopping centres, summer holiday destination as well as migrant workers returning to their homes. This is also a period when our Ports of Entry are busy because of the movement of goods and people in and out of the Republic of South Africa.
To maximize our citizen’s safety and their properties SAPS will launch its annual Nationwide Safer Festive Season Operation 2018 in Port Elizabeth under the theme “Quiet Storm” aimed to make South Africa a safe place during these summer holidays and beyond.
The Minister of Police, Mr Bheki Cele accompanied by the National Police Commissioner, General Khehla Sitole will officially launch this crime combating national operation.
A special emphasis will be on conducting crime awareness, preventative operations, aggravated robberies, crimes against children, enhancement of border security, road safety as well as fighting proliferation of illegal firearms.
Through well planned operations and strategic deployment of human and material resources with the support of the community, SAPS aims to bring crime to a halt.
Join us on the 1st of November 2018 at the NU2 Stadium in Motherwell , Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.
Fighting crime begins with me and you!
