KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda officially launched the Campus Safety Programme in Durban today.
The programme, implemented jointly by the Department of Community Safety and Liaison and the Community Policing Forum Youth Desk, seeks to mobilise students, police and crime fighting structures to eradicate crime in tertiary institutions in the province.
Three students have been killed in tertiary institution’s residents in KwaZulu-Natal this year. Kaunda called upon students to rally behind the programme as it will go a long way toward reducing the scourge of crime in tertiary institutions.
