Police pin down drug peddler in Kimberley

Northern Cape: Kimberley Police arrested a 27-year-old man after a high speed chase yesterday.

The suspect was seen standing nearby N12, carrying a plastic bag. He suddenly ran-away when he noticed that the police were approaching him. A high speed chase ensued and he dropped off the plastic bag he was carrying. Upon search and investigation, mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R12 000 was found inside the plastic bag which the suspect had dropped off on the ground.

He was immediately cornered and pinned down, and arrested. He has been charged with possession of drugs.

The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General commended members for displaying bravery, by executing arrest against the drug peddler. The suspect is expected appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court soon.
