The Arrive Alive website received the following email from a road user with a video attached:
Whilst travelling south on the N2, a driver displayed troubling signs of road rage.
He was speeding and trying to overtake on the left hand lanes of the freeway.
He pushed past me cutting me off and then proceeded to throw rude, threatening gestures.
It would also appear that he brandished a gun and showed it to me.
What very much appears to be a gun is visible in the video highlighted in the red circle.
He then sped away, continuing to drive too fast and recklessly, following too close behind other cars.
I find this behaviour very disturbing and this individual does not have respect for other people, the road or using a firearm responsibly.
What is this person capable of doing? in the future, i wonder!?
Here are more details of the incident.
( please note, the video timestamp on the dashcam is incorrect!)
Date: 29-11-2018
Time: 14:55pm
Location: South bound on the N2, before Isipingo.
Driver vehicle details: Audi TT, silver, convertible, Lacoste sticker on the bottom left, rear bumper. Zulu warrior sticker on bottom right, rear bumper
Registration: ND 205-467
I also stopped and spoke to a woman traffic officer who was on the roadside, writing somebody a ticket. She was only a few km’s from where the incident happened. She viewed the video evidence and took down the drivers details, she mentioned she was returning to the office and would ” deal ” with the matter, also possibly contacting park rynie officers.
Please contact me should you require any more details, information.
I would like to hear back from you, what may be done with this matter.
