KwaZulu-Natal: At 15H36 Saturday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a drowning at Meerensee beach in Richards Bay.
Reports from the scene indicate that a 16-year-old male had gone missing while swimming in the sea.
When the child could not be located the authorities were alerted.
A search for the young boy was conducted by NSRI Station 19 and his body was found submerged in the water.
The patient was assessed and found to have no signs of life and sadly declared deceased.
All necessary authorities including the SAPS were on scene.
