Police at Hanover in the Pixley Ka Seme Cluster arrested four male suspects in connection with a case of robbery.
It is reported the victim was tricked by the suspects at Hanover ATM while trying to withdraw money on Monday, 3 December 2018.
He got a message from the ATM to contact his Bank branch. Before he could talk to the Bank teller, he got a message indicating that R5000 was withdrawn.
He immediately rushed outside the bank and saw one of the men who pretended to assist him at the ATM. He contacted the police and members of Colesberg Flying Squad were activated.
Four Male suspects aged between 34 and 54 were then arrested.
The police would once again appeal to the ATM users not to accept any assistance from strangers when using ATM. They are rather advised to seek help from bank officials.
They are also advised to reduce their daily bank limits.
ATM users should be vigilant at all times to avoid being conned by tricksters especially during the festive season.
The four suspects are expected to appear before the Hanover Magistrates court today.
Police investigation is continuing.
