Victim stabbed in presence of family in Verulam

A Mozambican national was repeatedly stabbed in the presence of his wife and one year old child during a robbery on Todd Street near Oaklands.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by a passerby requesting assistance for the injured man. Upon arrival Medics treated him for multiple stab wounds to his arm and thigh.

The 28 year old man informed Reaction Officers that he ran a tuck shop at an informal settlement in Redcliffe. He was on his way with his wife and child to Verulam to purchase stock for the business when he was approached by two suspects who drew knives and demanded their valuables.

The male victim handed over his Hisense cellphone and R200 in cash. The suspects then stabbed him twice of his right forearm and twice on his right thigh before they fled the scene on foot.

Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspect however they still remain at large.
