Two bodies found – Community’s assistance sought by Uitenhage SAPS

Detectives from the South African Police Service in Uitenhage is seeking the community’s assistance in the following two cases.

According to police information, Uitenhage SAPS members were summoned to a scene on 2 December 2018 at about 18:20, at the Wincanton farm, outside Uitenhage. Police officers found the body of an adult male in an advanced stage of decomposition in a deserted old house. The unknown male is about 1,8m tall and was wearing black trousers and a light blue-and-white striped hoodie with the letter ‘A’ printed on the top left hand side.  An inquest was opened. The Police need to establish his identity and trace his next of kin.

Police are also trying to trace the next of kin of an unknown male whose body was found on Monday, 10 December 2018 at about 15:55 lying in the river close to Melbrooks Avenue, Uitenhage. The deceased was wearing black trousers, a black shirt and black shoes.  Circumstances surrounding his death is unknown and police is appealing to anyone who may know of a person who may have disappeared or went missing to contact them.  An inquest was opened.
