A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged with two counts of murder, following a gruesome discovery of the burnt bodies of a woman and a baby boy. The burnt bodies of an 18-year-old woman and 9-months-old baby boy were found in the veld near Windsorton, in the Northern Cape.
Today at approximately 09:00 a passer-by alerted the Windsorton police about the gruesome discovery of burnt bodies of a woman and a child in a veld near Windsorton. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of a 35-year-old man who is believed to be the deceased’s boyfriend and father of the baby. Both mother and baby were last seen at about 19:00 on Saturday, 11 May 2019.
The suspect was arrested today in Windsorton, with the assistance of members of SAPS Search and Rescue Team, Windsorton Detectives and Visible Policing. He will be appearing before the Barkly West Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 13 May 2019 on two counts of murder.
