Gauteng: At 15H17 Sunday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious collision on Oxford Road near Rosebank Mall in Melrose. Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a light motor vehicle lost control resulting in the car crashing into a tree. Paramedics assessed the scene and found that a 17-year-old male believed to be the front passenger had sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene. The driver of the vehicle a male in his early twenties sustained moderate injuries. The patient was treated on scene and once stabilised was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment. All necessary authorities were on scene.
