NORTHERN CAPE – On Monday, 01 July 2019 at about 01:30 in the morning, Sgt. Tshidido Taunyane and Sgt. Olebogeng Lekwene arrested five suspects; two women aged 18 and 22 years and three men aged between 20 and 23 years for the theft of a motor vehicle.
While the two police officers were busy with crime prevention duties, doing stop and search on N14 road near engine garage, they saw a suspicious silver Toyota Etios without registration numbers. They stopped the car and started to interrogate the five suspects. They were arrested after failing to give clarity on its ownership. It was later reported that a case of theft of motor vehicle was opened at Kathu and the silver car was linked to that case.
The five suspects will appear before the local magistrate court later.
The John Taolo Gaetsewe Cluster Commander, Major General Johan Bean applauded the two members for a job well done.
