PORT ELIZABETH – On Tuesday, 09 July 2019 at about 12:00, five suspects aged between 25 and 33 were arrested after a high speed chase on the freeway in Port Elizabeth. SAPS members were busy with patrols in Commercial Road, Sidwell when they noticed a Toyota Hilux LDV, grey in colour with five occupants, speeding and failing to stop at a red light. The members called for back-up and a high speed chase ensued. They managed to stop the vehicle on the M4 close to the North End prison and upon searching the vehicle the members recovered four (4) rounds of ammunition. It was further established that the vehicle filled petrol on Monday 08 July 2019 and Tuesday 09 July 2019, without paying for it. The suspects is expected to appear in court soon on charges of Theft and possession of ammunition.
